The house was perfect and easy to find. It is 100 steps away to the most gorgeous view of the coast. The house was comfortable and stocked with all of our needed cooking supplies. The outdoor area was ideal for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the beautiful night sky. Beds was very comfortable and we had plenty of space. I can’t wait to return. My only recommendation is that the oven should be cleaned more frequently. When we tried to bake, it was incredibly smokey from previous oil splatter and it caused the smoke alarm to go off.

Location- location- location! A short walk to the Distillery and the Marine Reserve which for us, was everything! House was very cute. Small and simple but nicely decorated and clean. Well stocked and access to Netflix and YouTube was a definite plus! Property management needs improvement. They don’t respond to emails or texting, even though they advertise they do. Phone calls are best. I never received check in information. No smart lock code. So I had to call. But they did manage to email me check out instructions before we even entered the home. Strange! The manager I spoke with apologized which I appreciate.

Great location, just a few steps from the Moss Beach reserve and forest trail walks, and a short drive from Half Moon Bay restaurants, groceries. The house has an odd layout: the master bedroom is upstairs, with sloping low ceilings and only a half-bathroom. A smaller bedroom is on the ground floor, next to the living room and kitchen. The only full bathroom (with tub and shower) is next to the kitchen, not close to either bedroom. The house has very poor air circulation, even with windows open. The kitchen had scratched teflon pans and an outdated coffee machine. The blinds were old and decrepit. The sheets and towels were very low quality. The side yard was poorly maintained (with some bits of old trash). The backyard does have a nice fire pit. We enjoyed our visit, but this property definitely needs some careful attention.

I highly recommend Andreia's place! So cool to be able to walk to ocean views and a variety of trails in just a few minutes. The house was perfectly clean, and the kitchen was probably the most well stocked I've seen at an AirBnB—everything was clean, functional, and easy to find. Very quiet, safe, peaceful location.

The location of this house is great! Walking distance to the distillery, the beach and the marine reserve! We had a nice and relaxing time there. Instructions sent by Andrea is very clear, I especially appreciate the local guide she shared, we went to restaurants and local beaches according to it, all very good! One thing to be aware is the house has irregular shaped rooms. The master bedroom upstairs is small and has slanted side walls like an attic, so need to be cautious to not bump your head or shoulders against them.

This home everything we thought it would be, and more. From the proximity to the beach (5 minute walk) and a little grocery store 3 minutes away by car, a great restaurant only 5 minutes away by foot, this is a truly relaxing get away, with all the amenities you can hope for. The kitchen was such a luxury, with a dishwasher, large refrigerator, lots of pots and pans and dishes, coffee and creamer, the list goes on. Bottom line, my family and I cooked as if we were in our own kitchen and it was so nice. Similarly, having a washer and dryer made life so easy! The fire pit outside was another relaxing feature that I would want to replicate in future rental experiences it is such a great feeling to sit in the ocean air, next to a fire. Our host was wonderfully responsive and professional, and communicated perfectly....all in all, this is an experience that gets a 10/10 rating from us!

This little beach cottage is so lovely. Simple and esthetic, definitely a nod to Scandinavian design. The house is tucked away down a little street filled with other homes that are just as charming. Moss Beach is a stunning spot with a spacious stretch of sand. We got lucky one of our June days here and had one sunny day, which we spent on the beach enjoying the incredible surroundings. Seals, birds, flowers and lots of shells and sea glass! It is an incredible beach, if it is warm and sunny. The home is fully equipped and we throughly enjoyed every bit of our stay. There is only one bathtub/shower, but two toilets and sinks, one upstairs and one downstairs. Just a heads up, as I didn’t notice that when booking. We sat by the firepit a few evenings and mornings and loved seeing hummingbirds, citrus trees and flowers everywhere. It’s a true gem and loved our stay.

A bit pricey, but cute and clean.
Positive: The house was very clean upon our arrival. It is situated near walking trails and a beach. Negative: While there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower. If you are a family or a group, this can present difficulty. One of the beds is in a hallway to another bedroom. This affords very little privacy to individuals sleeping upstairs. Due to a county ordinance regarding storm damage, the beaches were inaccessible from roads and path when we visited.. Be sure to check the county website before you book.

Beautiful simple home. Wish we had known about the Moss Beach airport runway noise in the back yard at all hours, all day long. A home 2 doors down had a giant tree removed that took 6 days to complete. The chainsaws and wood chipper made it not peaceful for every day we were there. If you’re looking for a quiet place, this probably isn’t the location. The home has everything you could possibly need to cook and enjoy family time. Well appointed and clean, it was easy to use the fire pit and amenities due to the clear instructions provided. Shopping is convenient in Half Moon Bay or Pacifica. Door Dash/Instacart deliver here too.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage in Moss Beach! The house was cute, clean, comfy and convenient to travel to SF or south to amazing beaches, views, and tide pools. The kitchen had everything. The house was very private and secure. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace on the cool nights. We used the grill but we’re unable to fully enjoy the fun backyard due to weather. It was an only a SHORT walk to beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend this spot!

This house is in a good location to all the local things you want to do. Walking distance to the walking trail where you can see the shore line and the seals. Walking distance to the distillery. They had good food! House was located in a little neighborhood. The landscaping was incredible. We used the fire place every night. House is in order and very clean. We had a great time here!

Andreia is super responsive and quick to answer all my questions regarding safety (we came during the severe storm). The house is just like pictured, it felt very comfortable and clean. The yard is amazing plus the location is so close to trails. Too bad it was raining or else we wouldve really loved to explore nearby. Definitely want to come back again during nicer weather so we can enjoy the trails and beach. The view is amazing even though it was raining. We enjoyed our time here. Definitely recommend!

What a magical home! We have stayed at Airbnbs all over the world and this is one of the best decorated and outfitted we have stayed in. They have truly thought of everything a guest might need from plenty of kitchenware to cook a gourmet meal to a playpen and baby bottles to extra blankets in case you get cold. The gas fireplace is easy to use once you follow the directions and really warmed the house up. The neighbors were friendly, the house is on a dead end street, and it is a half a block from a beautiful walking trail along the coast with easy beach access. The home has great flow for a group of people not to feel like they are on top of each other. The dining table also has an extra leaf which is a plus if making a nice meal for a group of people. The fire pit in the backyard is very strong and gives off plenty of warmth. All in all, a fabulous place. We would love to stay there again someday.

The house is very close to many beautiful trails. The sunset from the trail was beautiful and we got to see it every evening! Highly recommend this place.

Anniversary trip
My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days in and around this comfortable house , a short walk to the beach and the famous Moss Beach Distillery. We took many peaceful walks in the cypress grove on the cliff overlooking the ocean. The house was tastefully furnished with everything we needed . We will come back

Highly recommend: Cute place and very clean. The beaches are in close walking distance. Good outdoor and indoor space: There's a fire pit in the back yard as well as a gas fireplace indoors. It's in a very quiet residential area. Recommend Barbara's Fishtrap for lunch or dinner and Spangler's Market for groceries.

BEWARE…VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!! I will like start off by saying that I have been a long time AirBnB user and have never had a bad experience prior to this encounter. We took a family trip to California from the northeast to enjoy the weather and bring my nephew of 3 years old to Disneyland in LA. After spending 3 amazing days in Marina del Ray, we drove to San Francisco for 6 hours to stay at this property by the beach -which we had been looking forward to for weeks. After the long drive we arrived at our property at about 9:00 pm. Upon our arrival we realized that there was someone already on the premise. I decided to call the property manager through the Airbnb app and he was confused about the situation and asked that we wait as someone would be sent over. Someone arrived 10 minutes later but she seemed startled by an unknown car waiting outside the house . We proceeded to excuse ourselves and ask if we were at the right property as our host might have made a mistake with our reservation. The person told us that she had the property for the next few days so we assumed that the property manager double booked the property by accident. Since we were not from the area we asked for any recommendations on places to stay nearby and the person recommended some nearby hotels. We apologized for the weird situation and started to look into other lodging options near downtown SF. We then received a call from the property manager saying that the owner of the house was staying at the house and made a mistake with the booking dates. The property manager confirmed that the person we had spoken to was the owner of the house. I thought it was strange that she didn’t try to clarify the mistake when we were outside house. The property manager apologized for the situation and offered a second property which he said was super plush and we would like better than the house. We drove back to the Moss beach area to check out the property and frankly the place was underwhelming, old looking and most importantly seemed dirty. I called the property manager and told him that we would pass and just stay at a hotel. He said that they would proceed to initiate a refund immediately. For two days the refund had not been initiated and I reached out to the host via the app to ask about next steps. The person was rude and tried to blame the situation on me for not arriving earlier. I said all I wanted was a refund and she said that I had to cancel the reservation before she could imitate the refund. I canceled as instructed and 4 days later no refund had been initiated so I called Airbnb directly and they confirmed that a refund was not in process. Moreover, the Airbnb rep said that the host had left a review about my visit as if I had stayed at this property. Airbnb checked our conversation via the platform chat and recognized that the host was suppose to send us a a refund due to the circumstances described in the messages. Luckily Airbnb has started the refund process, but it’s mind boggling that these folks misreiprensted my stay, acted as if I was at fault of the situation and never started the refund process. I would encourage anyone to find other lodging options to as it is not worth dealing with hosts that show no accountability for their actions or interest in remedying their mistakes. As for the rest of our stay, we had to book multiple rooms at a hotel and ended spending twice as much due to the last minute nature of our reservation. ThIs was a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and I am writing a lengthy message to prevent the same for others.

This place epitomizes the look and feel of "California coastal". The property was cozy, comfortable, and refreshing. It's so close to the beach you can practically smell the ocean breeze. Andreia was great in responding to our small requests, and gladly accommodated them. We definitely would stay at this property again!

Our stay at Anchor Cottage in Moss Beach was wonderful. We loved the beach decor, the outdoor patio/fire pit, and the close location to the beach. Our host, Andreia, was very accommodating and provided very detailed information letting us know about great restaurants, beach and hiking areas, tide pools, etc. We will definitely come back to stay in the Anchor Cottage when we visit the Moss Beach area again. The house was very clean and the kitchen had a lot of tools. The out door fire pit was great as well. The location was perfect with some very cool local spots to walk to or drive to within minutes. The drive up to San Francisco was nice and easy as well. We did hit a little issue with the water heater shutting off on us twice but I still left a five star review because the issue was dealt with quickly, professionally and appropriately. We loved our trip and the location. Thank you.

This was such a lovely beach side location. The beach access is about 2 blocks and a long staircase away from the house. The beach itself lovely and there are cool tidepools that were fun for our 5 year old to explore. The house is small but tastefully/well decorated and feels special. The firepit is well done and functional. Be aware the single bed upstairs is on the landing close to the staircase, so if you have little kids think about how comfortable you are with them around steep stairs. Also the upstairs room/landing bed is in the steepled roof so the ceiling sides are low for adults. All in all the stay was just wanted we hoped for.

Just a few minutes walk from moss beach, tide pools, and bluff trails. The location is perfect and in a quiet neighborhood. We loved taking walks along the coastline and through the cypress tree forest. The backyard was spacious and had a nice fire pit. Our two kids (5 and 3 year old) had a blast! Andreia was very responsive and helped us every step of the way.

Great house for families to enjoy the Half Moon Bay Area. The house was a perfect set up for our family of 4 and was well stocked. The fire pit out back is great for s’mores on foggy nights. Our 5 year old twins loved going to the Fitzgerald Marine reserve tide pools every day to explore at low tide. It is only a short walk to Moss Beach Distillery for a meal with a view (and a ghost story) too. Awesome base for exploring the coast.

We had such a wonderful time in Moss Beach at Andreia’s home! It’s in a sweet, quiet neighborhood, just steps away from absolutely incredible views. The home itself was beautiful, spotless, and well equipped. We had 3 adults and one toddler in our group and Andreia made sure we had everything we needed - including a Pack & Play and toys for my daughter! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, though there’s a restaurant just steps away in case you’d rather eat out or order in. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back again!

This property is truly lovely. It’s a good spot from the beach, restaurant, and walking trails - which are, of important note to us, kid-friendly (6 year old) and pregnant-friendly. :) We were pleasantly surprised with the simplest of things, such as kid-friendly dinnerware, card games, and fleece blankets that are perfect for hanging out by the fire. The place is clean and is stocked up with amenities that you’d need for a couple of days’ worth of stay. It is also close enough to stores and shops that delivery was not an issue when we felt too tired to go out for supplies. Overall, our time had been exceptional and we can’t wait to go back.
