A broken fence that's missing fence boards is in front of the entrance. Upon entering , there is a 10 inch long horrible stain on the 4th step of the stairs accompanied by a horrible damp smell from the lower level. The couch was badly stained and we covered it with a table cloth that we keep handy for a picnic table covers. The windows rattle all night and need replacing. We tried using paper towel in the gaps of the window seal to quiet them up some. Most of the plates, glasses and kitchen supply were great, but one of the kitchen knives had a broken jagged handle and was not usable without wrapping a hand towel around it. The bed was comfortable, the couch was greatly stained and should be returned to what ever roadside it came from. The heaters don't all work. The bathroom wall heater doesn't, and the heater nearest the bed didn't come on until the second day (possibly an electrical issue). There's an unkempt and unfinished side yard and backyard with a large metal shipping container in it. The side yard was full of construction leftovers. Ideas like this should be disclosed to guests before purchasing their stay. This could be a wonderful property close to the beach and great hiking, once finished, but currently is in mid process.

It’s located in walking distance to the beach. Although we had to cross Highway 1, it wasn't a hassle. We could hear the sound of ocean waves. Despite its small size, the level of cleanliness was great. Fresh towels in the bathroom, clean sheets. You can only open one window & with no AC, we used it. We liked that you park behind a gate, our car was safe off the street. Our dog loved the backyard, bounding around. We cooked one night, the kitchen provided all the essentials. However, we did run into a small hiccup - the can opener. It wasn't the most reliable tool, it could be replaced. No filters for the coffee maker, so we used the French Press, which was fun, our first time. We hiked into the hills of Montara Mountain right from the house. The scenic trails & stunning views made our outdoor adventures worth it! Following the hosts recommendation list, we ate dinner in Half Moon Bay, at a restaurant that not only served incredible food, but also had a pet-friendly patio.

Turned and ran to safe clean B & B - Nantucket Whale Inn.
Positive: Nothing. View shown was from higher location than home. Negative: I DID NOT STAY HERE because home is in construction, dirty with trash inside and out. Not sure I was at the right house as there was a gate blocking view. Once I opened it, the first sight was an unpainted garage and a open shed piled with military stuff . The rental company was notified immediately upon my arrival. I requested a full refund because there was no cleaning to do and no tax to collect. Additionally, This was advertised as one bedroom, which it is only a studio loft and 1 bath. I wasn't going to post this or pictures but after several texts and calls to the rental office for a refund, I have no choice

Overall our stay was pleasant. However, there were some hitches. Here are some details, The TV was not working more than couple of days. You tried to have it fixed but to no avail. The bathtub was very pretty, but also very slippery and there were no grab bars or anything else one could hold onto while taking a shower. For old people like us it represented a real problem. I pointed this out to you while we stayed there and hope for your sake you will try to remedy this. We are also landlords and had been warned about what the consequences for some sort of accident might be. Climbing the stairs, especially with luggage, was an issue only for us. However, a few words in the write-up would have been helpful. Everything else in the house was great. The appliances, dishes and the furnishing were great. The neighborhood was pretty and people we met were very friendly. I hope you will take our comments in the spirit that it was made. Constructive. Regards, George,

Great property, great location. Quiet, quaint neighborhood. Friendly neighbors. Very clean and well stocked kitchen. The walk to the beach was super short and so beautiful! Quick car ride to Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. Dogs loved the large yard and outdoor space. The is a rather large gap in the fenced driveway so we did have to keep them away from that so they didn't escape. Looks like they are upgrading and improving the property but, it was absolutely perfect for my daughter and I and our two small dogs, we kept a window open so we could hear the ocean all night. Such an easy and seemless transaction. Definitely hope we can come back again. Thank you for a great Christmas getaway.

This place is perfect for a couples get-a-way.
Positive: The place was quiet and close to the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to find things. Negative: Some of the windows didn't work and the others were difficult to open. The house is under construction and when we pulled up it looked abandoned and boarded up. After we entered the property we were pleasantly surprised to find a simple and clean place.

Property is nice, cool neighborhood, quick access to amazing beautiful beach and killer trails. Not perfect, some things are under construction. Nice big yard which will be landscapd, but for now is messy. Some light bulbs out, one heater broken, windows are about to be replaced but for now are worn out and hard to open & close. Overall, one of my favorite spots in northern ca. This property willsoon be amuch bigger, more expensive rental when the in-process renovations are complete. We had fun, and the BIG reason was Matt Madeiros! Matt responded quickly to anything we needed, and helped us with ebike rentals--highly recommended. Ebikes allowed us to take an amazing scenic ride up into the mountains--it was a lifetime experience, and the trailhead was steps from the property. THANKS MATT! We will be back.

Only improvement request would be for somewhere to put our clothes so we could get out of our suitcases. And the bedside table lamp was not functional so couldn’t read in bed. But Montara is a cool coastal town with lots to do nearby.

We were there during the most recent storm, lost power most of Saturday night, sat in the dark with cell phone light because there were no candles. We were looking for clean place in a quiet neighborhood near the beach for a couple of days. And we found that for the most part - the interior was nice, modest and clean. The exterior, however, is seriously neglected. The house is surrounded by knee deep weeds and scattered junk, and several of the windows don't open. If that doesn't deter you, the inside is just fine and has a reasonable view of some of the coastline.

The property is not impressive on the outside but the inside is upgraded (except for the windows which were hard to open). The unit was clean and comfortable. There are views of the coast from some of the windows and the sound of the ocean can be heard at night. If you chose this property keep in mind that it is a unit above the garage and there are several stairs up to the unit. "Walking" to beach access is quite a hike and it's all up hill coming back. Also, there is NO television or radio. Internet access is available. Also, masks are required in that area so be sure you have plenty with you. Most stores and restaurants REQUIRE masks in order to enter. The dishwasher does not appear to work but it made have a process for turning it on that we couldn't figure out.

We loved Andreia’s place! My husband and I stayed here with our dog. Perfect space for the 3 of us. The home has a cabin feel that is super cozy. It was the perfect location, close to beautiful beaches and minutes away, from restaurants and grocery stores. Bed was super comfy. Kitchen has all your amenities, including dinnerware, spice rack, and coffee machine. If you’re planning on eating some crab, bring a crab cracker that’s the only thing we were missing! Lol. We definitely enjoyed staying here! The house itself was very cozy and comfortable. Also loved having the pretty backyard for my two small dogs and there is plenty of space to park in the front. Also loved being so close to Montara State Beach (so beautiful) and also still being able to be so close to Half Moon Bay and only 28 minutes from downtown SF. The host was very communicative and provided clear instructions which I definitely appreciated. The place itself was cleaned thoroughly and the linens were fresh. Also loved having a full kitchen. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend :)

My girlfriend and I stayed here to check out the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin and Art Festival and it was a perfect location. Easy access to buses, beaches, and breweries. The house was great; clean and comfy with a huge yard for our pooch to run around. It was just at what we needed for our trip and Andreia’s instructions were easy to follow. Would definitely stay again.

Andreia was an amazing host. Very easy to get a hold of, quick to respond, and the airbnb had everything needed to feel comfortable and clean. The soaps were hypoallergenic and for sensitive skin, which was perfect for someone with sensitive skin like me. The place was spacious and cozy. Totally recommend! Best of all, the beach was walking distance and we were surrounded by beauty!

We stayed there with my brother for about a week, the place is in a nice small town, you get to the beach in just 4 minutes walking distance, plenty of nature around. The place was clean and private, silent and ideal for our spiritual practices . We come from europe so we appreciated the good big american form factor kitchen, that was very nice, they should do it like this in europe too. The place was spacious and has everything you would normally need and some nice extra stuff toaster, best coffee machine I ever used etc. You arrive get the key by entering some code, you arrive at any time you want, Andreia usually responded simply within an hour when I texted her, no problems there that was great. You get it, I approve this place, many places I saw had a catch of some sort, this one does not. It's as on the pictures and even better, pictures won't show you how great the air is there believe me. Cool breeze

This was one of our favorite locations to stay at during our road trip. The house had every amenity imaginable, and the kitchen was one of the best stocked we have ever seen for in house cooking. The beach was a few minutes walk away, and we took advantage of all the ocean, redwood, and nature hikes during our 2 days there. Montara is a bit of a sleepy town, but if you want a more romantic and laid back atmosphere, this is your place. What a cool house and property, the owners are very lucky to own a little slice of heaven.

When I arrived I found mens UNDERWEAR IN THE COUCH, used tissues and the remote had a lube like substance on it. I REPORTED IT, and the Airbnb owner decided to chew me out for “flagging him” and told me I planted the underwear. Said I lied about “not having Wi-Fi” and that I shouldnt have “stayed the night if it was so dirty”, even though I’m a girl who got in at midnight. NOT COOL AT ALL, wouldn’t book if you don’t like supporting douche bags.

I wish we could’ve stayed more than one night at this beautiful property. House was in a quiet, convenient location. Walking distance to the local beach, which had beautiful sunset. We ate at a local restaurant which had amazing food as well. Place was clean, cozy, and looked exactly like the pictures. Bed was extremely comfortable. The only downfall we had was no hot water..so we could not shower. The maintenance person came as well and could not fix the issue either. Other than that, 10/10 would recommend.

This very affordable, well situated accommodation was just perfect for the two of us for a weekend. The furnishings were comfortable and the home was nicely decorated in the living area. The location is great with easy access to the highway but tucked away nicely into the neighborhood. Lots of great beach combing and hiking to be had in the vicinity with plenty of restaurants within a short drive. The view on the website is misleading and was taken with a drone high above the actual house, which is weird because the views out the windows of the nearby hills and ocean were lovely. The home is definitely still in the process of being renovated. We were a little put off at first by the yard (which is under construction), the front door, exterior of the home and the carpeting on the stairs which are all in need of repair or replacement but once we made it up to the top floor where the living area is located we were very pleasantly surprised. I think the pricing reflects this.

A wonderful place to spend the night, but a tad overpriced. I suppose location is everything, though! I do wish the electricity and lighting were better, but it was easily managed. It's awfully dark in the entry doorway, and that seems like an easy fix. I also wasn't prepared for the general property to be in the state it is in. I understand that with such a vast yard, and the difficulty in construction the last couple years, it's probably been hard to manage. I can't wait to see your finished results! General interior impression was positive, and the decor felt very warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well-furbished; though we weren't able to enjoy any cooking, I can see how in the future we could easily enjoy the preparedness! Thank you for being great hosts, I hope we get to visit for a longer period next time! We absolutely loved our day in Montara!

I really wanted to like this AirBnB - the pictures and description were gorgeous. But it was such a disappointment when we actually showed up, and I understood the "false advertising" comments I had ignored earlier. The place is rundown, the yard is a mess and the "stunning views" are mainly that of a tree with a little bit of ocean in one corner. And for the price we paid, it was definitely not worth it. While I appreciate that Andreia allowed us to bring our dogs, we were charged $75 per dog with nothing in return - most places either charge a refundable deposit, or if they charge fees then they provide bowls, food etc. Overall, definitely on my "avoid" list.

Total Disappointment-Don't Be Fooled!
Positive: The location and kitchen supplies were helpful. Close to Half Moon Bay. Negative: WARNING! This property is advertised on Booking.com as having a separate bedroom, but that is NOT the case. It is a studio. Not only were we disappointed to find out it was not as advertised, but when complaining to the owners and Booking.com, they said they would give us a partial refund because of misconstrued information. However, in the end, it was a lie and we had to pay the full price. If I had known it did not have a separate room, I would have just booked a hotel since that was the whole reason we chose this place. Given what we paid, I am very disappointed in the experience itself and the horrible customer service from all parties involved.

There is no lighting out front at night and is very dark, so be aware if you’re arriving at night. The inside was well situated though and surprisingly spacious. Perfect for a few nights stay tops.

This funky little surf shack is cutely decorated and in a fantastic location, just moments from a gorgeous local beach and challenging Montara Mountain trails. The local cafes are sweet little gems, and the sleepy seaside community belies the fact that you are only 20 minutes away from busy San Francisco. The furniture, fixtures, and decor are all create a rustic beach vibe very conducive to relaxation and creativity. The property itself, though, needs some TLC. The ancient aluminum windows and their rotten screens are dirty and, in some cases, inoperable, with the glass so loosely seated in the frames that we were afraid to open them. Indeed, one window had a half-inch, top-to-bottom gap between the glass and the frame in its center. To their credit, the owners immediately sent maintenance to fix the window, but all he could do was put masking tape over the gap. Not great for a property whose major selling point is the view out the windows. As others have noted, the entryway is sketchy, made all the more so by burned-out lightbulbs and the stench of dirty feet. Adding to the sketchiness is the action at the storage unit on the property, which is just feet from the kitchen window. For two hours after our arrival, people loaded and unloaded bulk groceries in the unit, which interfered with our sense of privacy and romance. For $60/night, all these sins would be forgivable. But for more than $300/night, coupled with photos that are borderline false advertising, we were annoyed. We live in the Bay Area, and are used to the high prices here, but the price of this AirBnB stood out as even more ridiculous than usual. We hope the owners will consider both improving the maintenance of their property and adjusting the price to match its reality.

Great stay! As some other reviews pointed out, the outside of the property looks a little sketch but once you’re inside it’s a total 180. Something to note if you’re bringing your pups - the yard is not maintained or fenced in, so you’ll want to keep them leashed. The studio is upstairs above a garage, and the garage is filled with the owner’s items. Once you get upstairs, any concerns you had based on the outside appearance vanish. It’s quite nice, has tons of amenities, is very clean, and has gorgeous views. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and dish ware if you wanted to cook all your meals there. The neighborhood is super quiet which was so peaceful and relaxing. You are walking distance (3 minutes) to a stretch of beach that is dog friendly and relatively empty on weekdays. Would definitely stay again! :)

Der Preis ist sehr hoch für das was man bekommt: kein willkommensgefühl, von außen ziemlich herunter gekommen, mit voll gepackter Garage, in der man zur Waschmaschine muss, keine isolierten Fenster so dass es ziemlich kalt wird nachts, Internet tat nicht, Küche war zt überladen von Geräten und nicht sauber, Geruch.... Die Umgebung um Montara ist zwar schön, aber viel Nebel und kalt. Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht (und wir waren schon in vielen Ländern in Airbnb).

The exterior of the house and the surrounding lot can definitely take some improvements. The interior of the house was as advertised - clean and welcoming. It had all that's required for a comfortable stay. The views of the hills and the highway from one of the windows inside were breathtaking especially when covered partially by fog. You don't get too much of a view of the ocean though - it's mostly covered by trees and other houses. Overall, we had a great time!

We stayed at Andreia's place with our 6yo and it was perfect. She has an extra mattress stored above the bed, which we were allowed to use as an additional bed for our daughter. The place has a lot of natural light and offers a beautiful view of the mountains and parts of the pacific coast. We stayed here in May and the nights could get chilly, but there are heaters which can be plugged in to keep you warm and cozy. The apartment is well furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen. Safe and quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors - don't forget to greet the neighbors ;-) Andreia is a great communicator and responds quickly. We recommend this place for a couple or small family and would definitely stay here again.

The outside of the place is a bit sketchy, but great once you walk up the stairs. My only issue is that there were 25 mph winds while we were staying there, and due to the outdated aluminum windows, you could hear the wind howling the whole night and day, which made it difficult to sleep. The bed was also extremely creaky. The heater does not heat up that much, but they do have space heaters available. Other than that, everything else was great.

Great stay! As I read from other reviews and can concur, outside is undesirable but once you walk in, it’s a perfect space for a couple and dogs! Very roomy studio. My 6’6 boyfriend had no problem with the high ceilings and large shower. Very safe and cute neighborhood that my dogs, boyfriend, and I liked to walk, especially to Gherkin’s and Oceanview cafe (a mere 5 minute walk with little to no cars). Would not suggest walking to beach with children or dogs as you have to walk across highway 1, which is very busy and no cross walks. Yard was not fenced in, so had to keep my dogs on a leash when I took them out. 15 minutes from downtown half moon bay. 10 minutes from Capistrano Rd. Overall, would highly suggest and would stay again.

Walking distance to excellent coffee and FANTASTIC sandwiches at Gherkins. Unit: Loft style unit with garage underneath. No downstairs neighbors to worry about. Spacious, well-lit with gorgeous views of the mountains, highway 1 and portions of the ocean. Incredible views of the fog creeping over the hills. Excellent full size kitchen, very comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. Communication: Owners are very responsive, friendly and non-obtrusive. Great response time. OVERALL - this is a must stay in Montara. So close to Half Moon Bay, Mavericks, Pacifica and San Francisco. You will feel like a local in no time!

You might question your choice as you drive up to this AirBNB—the outside of this apartment and the property it sits on are pretty unkempt and unattractive. When I opened the door, the stairs also made my a little nervous (pretty dirty carpet) but the moment you emerge at the top of the stairs it looks 180 degrees different. The interior of the apartment is well finished and furnished. The kitchen is well stocked and very usable. There is a partially obstructed, but still beautiful, view of the ocean. And it’s an easy walk to the beach. One thing to note though: there is a pretty treacherous road-crossing to get to the beach, with high-velocity, low-visibility traffic. I wouldn’t recommend it with young children. The only disappointing part of our stay was the lack of internet. For some reason the wifi was down during our whole stay. Xfinity called and attempted to help. They said they’d come by and look at it the next day but canceled the appointment for some unknown reason. None of this would have been a big deal but cellular service (both AT&T and Verizon) was AWFUL throughout this area. So we did have a little trouble navigating the area without good access to information. Tips: * Don’t get too disappointed by this place’s first impression (it gets better). * Keep in mind the road-crossing if you are traveling with young children. * The beach is not really a swimming beach. There are dangerous rip tides and waves that prevent that. * Make sure you have good maps and information before arriving so you don’t have to depend on internet. * In the tub the knob marked cold is hot and the one marked hot is cold. Keep those in mind and I’m sure you’ll have a great time here.

The bottom floor is a garage and the top floor is a cute studio apartment. The exterior needs some basic cleaning and we didn't get a response from the property management company when we asked a question (we only asked 1). They have everything you need to have a comfortable stay inside the apartment but you wouldn't want to hang out on the patio or back yard. Read the details carefully because they have some (semi-weird) instructions: no shoes in the house, a noise recorder in the house, etc.

We found this rental last minute during a very busy vacation week, so we were glad we found accommodations near the ocean. The house is close to the water as advertised, and easily walkable. The neighborhood was quiet and residential. They have kept the small interior nice - for the price, I would say, reasonable value. Check in and checkout were perfect, fair and we had no issues during our stay. “Stunning” views is an overstatement, but you could see the ocean from one side of the house, which is beautiful for sure. Finally, the entire house is on the dated side with the kitchen and bath in need of upgrade, but they were both serviceable. The pictures here are quite generous, but technically accurate. Overall, it is a great place for a lower cost romantic getaway if you’re looking to do adventures & meals out and about in the beautiful coastal area for the day and evening, with comfortable, quiet accommodations awaiting to sleep when the day is done.

My family had a pretty nice stay at this air bnb. It was clean, and it had a pretty view. The kitchen was well equipped. The owner stopped by to get something from the garage, and she was nice. We used it as a jump off point for other adventures, and it worked well for that purpose. For 1-2 people it could be a destination, but it was too small for my family to have our whole vacation at this location, which is what I expected from the advertisement. So no problem there. My biggest issue was that it said it had sleeping for 5, but actually it only had sleeping for 4. Luckily we had a camp cot and a sleeping bag from an earlier leg of our trip, so we were okay, but I thought this was misleading. Also, they didn't have enough blankets for 4 people. We had to use our own. This seems basic.

My fam, dog and I had a lovely stay here. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, like space heaters, clear instructions on amenities, the well stocked kitchen with all you’d need to cook a meal, plus sugar, coffee filters, tea and spices. Always great to not have to stock those yourself! We brought bikes and biked through the charming neighborhood. It may seem small for four, yet with the full kitchen and different hang spots we had all that we needed. My fave feature of the property was the cool, quirky little loft (or bird’s nest) where my 12 year old daughter posted up with her music and iPad, sleeping up on the small mattress up there. It was unusual and memorable. Crossing Highway 1 on foot to access the beach was a great memory. Hearing the ocean from the studio, seeing it from one window, was the icing on the cake. We’ll be back!~

This was a good spot for a winter getaway! Convenient location! Short drive to Half Moon Bay and Pacifica. Walking distance to the beach and it's just great! I say winter getaway because we knew we would be indoors (except when we were out and about.) Typically, we prefer spots with nice yard and outdoor seating, or a deck/patio because we just love to be outside. This location doesn't meet that criteria. The landscape has potential, though. But there isn't much effort on the curb appeal. The inside is great and super cozy. It was clean and it had everything we needed! Again, perfect for cozy winter getaway. We would stay here again.

This spot is very close to beach access points and many places for shopping, gas, and food! Don’t be alarmed with the outside. Once you’re in the place it is a true gem. Enjoyed our stay!

It includes all of the amenities you will need and we loved having a full kitchen. 5 minute walk to the beach and beautiful hiking. Only downside is we had consistent issues with the WiFi, which made it hard to look up directions to local places. Overall lovely stay.

Like other reviews stated, it looks like a fixer-upper from the exterior but don't let looks deceive as the interior is spacious and very comfy! Nice full-sized bed with ample windows looking over a wonderful swath of the coastline. Kitchen had all the fixings for us to cook a few meals but there were also several eateries close by that were very tasty! That's not even mentioning the fact that it is a <5 minute walk from a very large classic NorCal Beach! Great spot to spend a vacation. Worth noting that the internet was poor, spotty at best throughout our three night stay and actually cut out a few times during the evening while we were trying to watch Netflix. Turning the router off and on sometimes fixed it, but trying to do work from home here didn't work quite as well as we were hoping.

You couldn't beat the location, a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Montara State Beach and a close drive to other beaches, parks, and downtown Half Moon Bay. The outside of the house gives one pause when you drive up but, rest assured the inside is inviting and lovely.

We enjoyed staying at Andreia's place! It was very convenient having several places nearby that were within walking distance including the Montara State Beach, Gherkins Sandwich Shop, Here Comes the Sun cafe, and a gas station/neighborhood market. There was also a good variety of restaurants available for delivery through UberEats. The studio was perfect for a couple and there was a smart TV where we were able to connect to Netflix and spend time in the "living room". The house was equipped with the necessary kitchen supplies and it was very clean and modern inside. The exterior could use some updating as there was no yard or deck for us to spend time outside. It was also pretty warm this past weekend so it would have been nice to have a fan since we weren't able to open two of the windows in the kitchen. Overall, I recommend staying in this Airbnb because of the location. Thank you!

I definitely liked staying in the studio and the LOCATION was amazing, small walk to some of the most gorgeous beaches in California. Stunning, dramatic coastline and a charming town. A lot of the reviews mention the inside being so much better than the outside of the house and I agree, the inside was totally fine and there were plenty of kitchen amenities and it was an easy place to stay. I think the outside could be improved upon to make a better first impression. The entry way smelled pretty mildewy, but maybe that's because we were on the coast and in a naturally rugged area with fog. Overall a nice place to spend a few days, the place felt clean and COVID-safe, and the beauty of the coastline was worth it, being so close was very special.

Do not be deceived by the outside appearance of the home! Upon entering, I was blown away by how beautiful the interior is. It’s nicely decorated, about a 5 minute walk from the beach, and overall a wonderful stay. There isn’t a TV so be sure to bring a laptop if you’re wanting some electronic entertainment. The bathroom is beautiful with lots of aromatic lotions and soaps. I didn’t even want to get out of the bed, the mattress is like heaven. For the price, this is definitely a home I’d recommend staying in.

Don’t judge a book by the cover. The outside isn’t much, but a lot of thought was put into the interior. Our daughter LOVED the loft bed and the location can’t be beat. You really can walk to the beach and trails within a few minutes, and if you don’t feel like getting out there, the space offers a beautiful view of both.

This is the cutest Airbnb, just a block away from Montara beach & a ton of great local hiking trails! Andreia & Matt were great communicators, and check-in was easy. The house is really open and airy, with large windows on all sides of the house to let in the light & breeze. I care a lot about cleanliness, and their place was really spotless. It also had a great kitchen with full tools/amenities, which was important during these times where you can't easily go out to eat :) We were so impressed and would heartily recommend this place to anyone else!

This Montara studio is magic. It is located at the heart of lovely Montara. As you enter the studio the first thing you see when you look out the window is the Ocean and the surrounding San Pedro valley hills. I woke to the sound of crashing waves every morning, while I was enjoying the cosiness of the space. The studio is very functional, impeccably clean and shows a lot of TLC from its owners. Andrea and her husband are amazing hosts with big hearts. They go above and beyond in service. (Thank you for cleaning the windows for me every day so that I had a sparkling view!) I spent two wonderful days here and I am already planning my next visit.

Beautiful and dramatic location on Pacific Coast Highway half way between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica. Easy to get to anywhere in Bay Area from this location. Can park your car in driveway. It is a studio apartment above a garage, so it is up a flight of stairs. Well provided apartment. One queen size bed and one queen size pull-out sofa bed, and some smaller bed suspended over the first bed which we never tried. Two, maybe three blocks from highway and beach. We were there end of February so needed heat at night, and it was adequate. Good kitchen. Washer/dryer in garage at bottom of stairs. 20 minutes to SFO, 30 minutes to Stanford and 30 minutes to San Francisco bridges. Half Moon Bay and Pacifica are about 7 minutes away each with shopping centers, starbucks, etc., probably other amenities along way. Responsive host with telephone number.

Do not be deterred by the Google "street view" of this space. Andrea's place is one of the best AirBnB's we've stayed at in the last six years. The interior is spacious for two or three people, well appointed, and has a beautiful view of the coastal mountains north of Montara and a little bit of Montara beach, to which one can walk in about two minutes. We were very pleased with our stay here and will definitely return when we next visit Montara.

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway away by the sea, this is a wonderful place. note you have to cross Route 1 to get to beach which I wouldn’t do on foot. Staying at Montara was very pleasant, we had plenty of space to spread out. The apartment includes a full kitchen. The beach is a very short walk across the highway and you can access pristine natural parks with some fabulous mountain hiking from trailheads that are only a couple minutes from the door. There are also laundry facilities and plenty of space for parking. We loved the Peruvian restaurant nearby, and had coffee each morning at the local cafe. The internet was fast and the post office was only a few blocks away. It’s a short drive to Starbucks, a supermarket and plenty of other amenities, which are over the hill in nearby Pacifica. This Airbnb is very private and quiet. The nights were chilly when we stayed but the heating made the place warm and cosy in minutes. All in all, this is a perfect place to shore up, get some rest, go hiking, go surfing or work in solitude. If you bring large sporting equipment such as surfboards, there is plenty of space to store them in the garage below the apartment.

Beautiful location. Convenient, quiet, great views, close to good food, beaches, hikes, SF and Silicon Valley. A lot to like about location. For me, it was a beachy getaway close enough to make work bearable.

Andrea's place is wonderful. It's a great location with great amenities. The kitchen has all the supplies you need to make any meal. The bedding is comfortable and the bathroom has all that you would need too. The location is close to the beach and the views are pretty.

The studio was bright and clean and all the amenities were thought of. The only issue we had was the musty smell up the staircase to the studio. I suspect it was from the damp garage beneath. Andrea was very helpful and responsive to the few requests we had upon moving in.

We really loved our stay here! The view of Montara Beach from our window was amazing, the space was cozy and quiet and had everything we needed (even beach towels). The place was exactly as advertised (queen bed, free parking, up one flight of stairs, beach view, lovely kitchen, simple but stylish space). We loved being so close to the beach. We went to Here Comes the Sun every morning for coffee and loved it, great atmosphere and coffee. Easy drive on beautiful Highway 1 from here up to San Francisco or down to Half Moon Bay or Santa Cruz.

We were looking for a relaxing weekend in Montara and this is exactly what we were looking for. The location is near everything and super private/quiet. We loved having the full kitchen as well. Nothing beats waking up to the chilly air and sounds of the ocean. Highly recommend this lovely and extremely clean home for your next relaxing getaway!!!!!

This place is in an incredible location. Just a block away is a cliff overlooking a beach with the roaring pacific and amazing sunsets. You can hear the crashing waves at night. It's a quiet neighborhood, too, great place for a getaway. The apartment was bright and airy, plenty of space for 2 people, full kitchen and bath with pretty much anything you'd need. One minor consideration is that cell service is spotty (we are on verizon), so making calls was difficult, and once you leave the house/wifi, getting directions on your phone can be tricky until you drive up to Pacifica or south a bit out of the mountains. But the place and host were great and I would highly recommend staying here! Loved it.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Minutes away from montara beach in a quiet neighborhood. Getting around was very easy not to mention a beautiful drive through the mountains. Kristjan was very responsive and extremely accommodating even meeting me to lead me to the house. Can't wait to come back!

Outside was a little unpleasant but what matters most the inside was very nice. Neighbor was sawing and burning things a little late, other than that you can hear the ocean, which is amazing. Short walk to a small beach area. Overall great experience!

Lovely place.. perfect for one or two people. Montara beach is my favorite - I live in the East Bay and come here a lot. This time was amazing because I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets ever, and went down early and saw the full moon rise. Never have seen before over the ocean. The weather was amazing . The place is nice, clean, and has everything needed. Beautiful view and nice sunshine through the kitchen windows .. I would love to stay here again... please note there are stairs right as you walk in. It was no problem for me, I just wasn’t expecting it. Maybe I missed it in the description. Thanks !!

Stayed for one night and we had a blast! Completely private and very easy stay, everything was available for our stay. Make sure you bring water! Bed, TV, all the fixings was there. I can't wait to stay there again. A staycation / vacation home is perfect for a couple.

We enjoyed our stay so much we wanted to move in :). The studio is sunny, impeccable, with nice furnishings, a great kitchen, and a little peek of the ocean. I sat by that window reading a book with a coffee all morning. 2 blocks from the beautiful Montara Beach. We will be back!

Weekend in Montara
Nicely renovated and comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than home! Everything we needed was there including good WiFi. A TV would have been a nice addition, as well as a lighted address sign to help people find the place in the dark. Other than that, this place was spectacular.
